sunfish leak

I just bought a older sunfish I think its a 78 but I amnot sure,the first day I sailed I capsized about three times and when I took my boat out it drained maybe a half of gallon for a two and a half ride. Can sombody tell me if its a deck leak or hull leak And how to fix it.

Trevor, there isn't a way to tell where a leak is from a one sentence overview. You need to do a leak test. There's a guide at the Wind Line Sails web site http://www.windline.net/proj4.htm

Leaks can appear in the mast tube, under the aluminum trim around the hull flange, in the dagger board slot, at every fitting screw, around the bailer, where the cockpit tub meets the deck, or at every patch. You will need to test each and every spot during your test.

When you find your leak post the details and people can then give the advice you are looking for.
