Any insider (or other) reports?
My info is all third hand, but the top five were all from South America with Jean Paul de Trazegnies (Peru), 2018 World Champion, the winner.
Three days of racing were planned but day 2 was cancelled due to strong winds etc. Seven races were completed.
I was there. I think that is me down by the pin in the starting line pic (49615). Thursday we sailed in a southerly (more or less) that was maybe 13-15 kts with puffs to the high teens. There was a fairly steep chop. Generally there were only moderate shifts, altho the right tended to be a bit favored. Saturday the RC said it was blowing about 20 with gusts to 25 or so. It was out of the north with big shifts. Given there wasn’t a lot of fetch for the waves to build, it was pretty wavy! Folks who sailed Friday for practice said Saturday’s conditions were similar to Friday’s. At least it was sunny Saturday! Courses were nice windward leewards with .75 mile weather legs.
