Got a line on a newer Sunfish--not sure of the year but it's got the new rudder style. Sail looks a bit rough, and Hull dirty. But comes with a trailer and asking $500. I've finally got everything straight with my current rig, but if I swap over the sail I'll have a newer boat in nice shape. Could probably sell my hull, older sail, old rudder and trailer for close to (maybe more in the spring) $500...
"Flipping" boats is one way to upgrade. I put some cash in my 69 fish (which already had the newer rudder) towards a new tiller/extension, daggerboard, sail and lines, and it's a truly great boat. A little bit of previously owned hardware too. The upgrades were my only cost as I got the boat free. Oh...some nice graphics also

On the "plus" side, I've gained one new modern rudder, one excellent mahogany rudder, two North sails, two excellent composite tillers, a bunch of decent boards, one HD mast—but now have five hulls!
But did make $500 on one older complete Sunfish, and now am waiting for the new sailing season—to put three complete Sunfish on the market—after some epoxy and paint work.
"Flipping" is addictive, but there are some weekends it's too windy for sailing...
