Patch gelcoat on RED sunfish

I am starting to fix up an incredibly good condition used fish I picked up last fall. The only real issue is shown in the attached photo. If this was a white hull, I'd fill with marine tex and call it good, but since it is red that would look horrible. What are your suggestions for patching in order to match the color reasonably close? I have never used gelcoat before and wouldn't know where to procure such a small amount economically.

Instead of trying to match the paint color you could go with the "hide it in plain sight" method - paint a sunfish logo or other design (bubbles, flames, your signature, whatever...) over the repair.
