Does anyone have a clever solution to pad the bottom of the two linked eye bolts that link the boom and lateen? I do hold it up while raising the sail, but plan on loaning the boat out and can’t be assured this will happen.
I’m trying to keep the deck from being scratched. I’ve been considering using contact cement to glue on some neoprene padding. But I was wondering if there was something slicker and more professional out there.
At a minimum make sure that the eyebolt threads are cut flush with the stop nut and filed smooth. For our boats we did the "boom outhaul cap flipped upside down on forward end of lower boom" upgrade.
