Anyone with experience using 2"PVC for outhaul...would appreciate pictures for set-up too.

Before the JC Boom Sleeve was approved I did try the PVC option. Attached is a picture of the setup I used. I would say it works better than a clew strap or tie down line but still does not slide as easily as the JC boom sleeve, though, obviously, if you and lots of your good friends get together to buy a section of tubing it is a lot cheaper.
I had one problem with the PVC slide that was most likely me not be careful... but while sailing in some pretty good breeze and trying to adjust the outhaul going upwind I managed to get the strap to come off the sleeve. That was not a good situation to be in! I think the real pros with the PVC sleeve have a better tie down system.
One thing to note, the PVC slide is not legal for racing.
