. A screen print from Saturday's wind. The weather station is less than 1 mile from the Laser course. The blue line is the average wind speed, the red line is the gusts. The fleet launched at 10:30 AM and returned (after two races) around 3 PM.
For me as well. A keelboat-jockey like me doesn't like those easy-flipping-wrong-side-up boats in that sort of weather. Besides: for me, 40 knots = heading to the harbour + a bar with a cosy fire! I only sail 'zwaardboten' (= 'dagger boats') when it's pretty nice and easy weather.
