I live in the western Suffolk area. Have a Sunfish and trailer. During the summer season I have a great little spot to launch the boat from the beach into the sound by unhitching the trailer pushing the boat and trailer by hand a few yards down a wooden ramp.Off season they take the ramp away and this is much more difficult. Can anyone living in the area suggest a spot that is good for easily launching the boat? I am looking for a spot that has direct access to open water.

need more details regarding specifically where on Long Island you are referring to....If western suffolk is the area, you may want to contact Jim Koehler, Owner of the Dinghy Shop (www.dinghyshop.com), located in Amityville...He has a small beach there that may be an option.
