The gelcoat is available readily online (LP used to do a small pack of it on their web shop). What you cannot get through the post is the catalyst but you should be able to buy that locally.

I did contact Laser Performance in the US and they indicated that it is very likely that my deck gelcoat is Fog Grey (boat manufactured by Vanguard), which they do not stock. Not the Vela Grey I indicated.
I have been unable to find a source for this. Note that none of the UK retailers I contacted will mail gelcoat to the US or Canada
Not sure where' you're located but, this guy does amazing repairs! He's friendly, I would give him a call and ask, if you're within driving distance and want it to match exactly I'd have him do it. http://www.yelp.com/biz/roxburgh-marine-repair-bridgeport
Best I can tell, they select certain colors for each year. Used to be a couple of real colors, but now it is just different shades of grey. I hope a future builder who really cares about the class rectifies this. And there is probably some sort of joke in there about 50 Shades of Grey. I'll work on it.
Anyway they make small amounts of repair gelcoat available to dealers, but for that year only. You might find the right shade for a boat one or two years old, but not something build in 2002.
It's fairly easy to make your own colour mate.
Get your hands on the nearest shade of grey that matches and tone up or down with acrylic paint.
With a little patience doing a few testers on a sheet of clear plastic you'll soon find the blend - make notes as you go.
Oh, excellent suggestion! Thanks. The guy in the video in my other thread mixed his test right on the surface then, because no catalyst had been added, he just clean the surface off when he got the color just right. But his surface was flat.
Was pondering if I could do this with the Laser non skid deck pattern, ie, get all the non catalyized gel coat color tests fully removed with Acetone. But now I don't have to. Clear plastic. Brilliant. So simple.
Non slip area ?
I use plasticene ( kids modelling clay ) pressed onto the deck adjacent to the fix and immediately placed onto the new gel skin in the same orientation I've just put on..just gotta not give in to temptation and lift the clay too early..works brilliantly to ok depends on the amount of gel you've put on..experience an all that blether denotes the approximate amount of gel.
