Illegal Daggerboard

Does anyone have any experience with a daggerboard made by Tosh Custom Boatworks? They advertise that they have a 'Sunfish' daggerboard for $79. Made from "edge-locked-laminated" Cypress and either "finished" with 3 coats of Helmsman Spar Varnish, or "unfinished", so you can "do it yourself".
Length is 46". Width is 9-1/2". Thickness is 3/4". I measured my Barrington board and it is about 6" shorter than this board, which tells me they may be replicating the new plastic board. I like the price of this board, but I want to make sure I'm getting something of quality. I'm only interested in recreational sailing, but the new board is of interest to me.
Thanks for the help!

I can't speak to the daggerboard but I own a rudder made by Tosh and it is quality work. FYI, I finished it myself getting the quality finish I wanted and saved $20.

If you are not interested in racing I don't see how you could go wrong. You will have a new board that will last for very little money.
