Deck mounted cam cleats

I am getting ready to install deck mounted cam cleats for my mainsheet. Does anyone out there use them? if so, what is the proper distance out from the rachet block to mount the cam? I understand that they should be installed with a riser due to the slope of the deck. I just want to make sure that this is the best setup.

The cockpit sets the distance from the ratchet. You want to be able to through bolt into the open cockpit under the lip. The angled mounting plates work well to align the mainsheet with the ratchet using an eye strap and spring. If using a regular base with the ratchet it makes it just enough higher so the taller riser angled blocks need to be used.
JMHO but the lower the risers for the cleats the better it is on your butt when moving around the cockpit...LOL
