Ive had a sunfish since last fall and usually positioned the board curved end forward. Ive since seen many pictures and drawings, some showing it each way. Im wondering which is correct. It seems the board would pop up easier if running aground with the long end aft, curved end forward. Which is correct?

From MANY experiences I can safely tell you the daggerboard will not "pop up" no matter which way it is facing. The rudder yes as it's mounting hardware was designed for that.
As for the direction the new plastic dagge board was designed to run with the long end foward. This gives maximum air foil shap and the anlged trailing end helps eleminate the vortex effect which creates drag.
