Question Conversion to new Rudder…

I am thinking about converting my “old style” rudder hardware to the new one.

Is it possible to simply buy the transom mounting bracket and new rudder hardware (rather than a completely new rudder) and retrofit the rudder I have to the new system?

I think I have all the old hardware (minus a pin that should be easy to replace…) so worst case I could keep the old system, just wanted to see if anyone had done this with the newer style rudder but old hardware

My old hardware looks like a sand-casting, while yours looks like a zinc casting. Not that it's a big deal--its just different.

I thought it might be Zamak but doing some basic weight and volume stuff the alloy is most likely aluminum, perhaps die cast instead of sand cast. A zinc alloy version would be substantially (2.5x or so) heavier. There are a couple marks on it near the pintle pin that look like pushers from a more automated molding process.
