Best practice for dolly transporting with sail and mast on deck

Is there a "best practice" configuration for dolly-transporting the boat with the sail and mast on the deck? On windy days I try not to rig the boat until close to or on the water. I put the daggerboard and other gear into the footwell , rolled sail + mast on the deck. Often when I'm pulling the boat though, the sail or mast annoyingly slides off the side.

We dolly with everything down and tuck the aft end under the bridle, msat is in the gooseneck. Or we step the mast with the gooseneck attached but leave the sail down, and use some of the mainsheet aft to tied the aft end of the spar and sail to the bridle. If you trailered with the mast down, you could use the forward end of the sheet to throw a quick turn around the sail/spar/mast bundle onto the deck cleat.

As always, roll the sail on itself, not around the spars.

I use a home built daggerboard dolly. Easy build and not costly. My version is fresh water but different wheels such as all plastic lawnmower equipment could be used. Tip the boat on its side and stuff the wheels in. I also use it to shove the boat into my pickup truck (plastic bed liner). Lift the bow, dolly falls out. Stick the dolly back in on top for transport.

wheel borrow wheels, 1/2 inch diameter galvanized rod X 36 inches, scrap wood, foam pad against the hull.

mine is particularly crude and ugly but it is now over 45 years old. The only improvement has been tire tubes.
