Wow, its been long time since i've been here, last post was a while ago. (it's funny that i still hold one of the top posting spots) i randomly remembered this site, BTW, brad, like the look
KP, SUNY Maritime, Navy, CG - free education, monthly spending money, someone else cooking and serving meals, clothes provided (and washed/pressed at least at Navy) and a job waiting for you when you graduate. Not to mention some of the best sailing facilities in the country, good coaching.
Spring and fall, the wind is pretty good all over the Sound. Western end of LIS can be crappy in the summer (but there was wind for LYCRW and Cedar PT jr regattas, E Worlds has good sailing all week), but from the middle out to the Eastern end it's not bad. It's never gonna be the Berkley Circle in San Fran, Hood River in Oregon etc. but then those places don't teach you to master light air either...
Yeah, the water quality sucks. What are we personally doing to change that ?
