I recently got a new sail and sail numbers but I have never attached sail numbers on before. Is this task hard to do, and do you have any tips for doing it the right way and quickly?
Also I have the class rules and dimensions already, was more interested in the actual action of putting them on.

For a first timer, right way and quickly don't go together..
A flat work surface large enough for the whole number sequence (ie 189898) on one side is ideal. The sail needs to be free of salt/dirt and it needs to be dry. It helps to have a straight edge that you can use to draw a light pencil line the represent either the bottom edge of the numbers or the top. Then watch this..
(she talks too much, but the principles are ok)
A couple of tips:
If you have to, cut the number in half (some people have trouble with 8's and 0's )
The adhesive is a pressure sensitive adhesive. Once it's in place correctly firmly rub over the whole number.
I peel back one corner, pulling the lining back 180 degrees. I then position the number and press down the exposed corner. I then slowly peel back a little bit at a time, pressing down as I go, working along the length of the decal. Works well with a "1" or even a "2" or "5". A bit of a challenge for a "6" or "9".
