We are having a record cold front here. The high yeaterday reached only 43 degrees. The old record lowest high temperature for the same date was 53. We sailed in sleet.
Also, the 69 degree water and 40 degree air made for some really interesting fog. sailing upwind demanded reading the fog rather than the surface of the water.
Actually this is a simple thing to do. If teh fog is crossing sideways, you are about to have a lift. If the fog comes at you, get ready to tack.
