thanks, i have no intention to race. purely for fun. i think its had a coat of paint already so when i get a good look ill fill the deeper scratches and i might give the whole thing a sand down. im not too worried about what it looks like and i dont want to keep adding paint if its had some already.
heres a pic of my mast step. it looks in pretty good shape but i could be wrong. i water tested it and its water tight. there was a bit of water in the hull but i guess that was comming through the inspection hatch as the boat wasnt nose up, and not able to drain out.

hi, my boat has a few scratches and marks as you would expect from an older boat. id like to give it a bit of attention, but without being too fussy. what are my options?
fill the scratches, sand it and leave it, or give it a coat of paint, give it a coat of gelcoat ect?

hi guys, no worries about changing the title. thanks for the advise . it shouldnt be a big job so adding a couple of layers of fibreglass will give me peace of mind.
