just spent 3 days sailing at lake palo pinto (about 60 miles west of ft worth) the wind was 10-15 mph. i havnt sailed in over a year hardly in boat traffic and there was a store 2 miles away- had a great time!!!
just want to know where other 14.2's sail in texas- i like PK lake, graham lake, palo pinto lake. lake cisco and lake leon are ok kinda small. these lakes are in central texas.
the battery is mounted in a milk crate with a strap and i used the foam packing from the speakers to fill in the space around the battery, all of this is just behind the cuddy door. i use 'gator' clips to attach the power leads to the battery, i also connect the ( + ) side of the antenna coax...
i've talked with catalina and they said 'no problem' with cutting holes beside the cuddy door! i'm going to use kicker 6.5 round speakers, pioneer head unit and a battery from kinetik power cells. the battery weighs 14 pounds and i plan to recharge with a solar panel.
any ideas on doing this? i plan to mount 2 speakers on either side of the cuddy door, the battery in the cabin area and stereo mounted to the cuddy door.
thanks jgm!
i tried the 'bob' out this weekend at the boat ramp before sailing - it seems to work fine! i had a good time sailing and was more confident.
are there any 14.2 sailors in north/central texas? i sail PK lake, lake leon, palo pinto lake and lake cisco - not much fun sailing solo! also would like to see how other boats are rigged.
