I have 2 rudders for my laser. On one, the top pintle is slightly longer than the bottom pintle. On the other, they are the same size. Is one of these more "standard" than the other? Just curious before I go to sell the extra...

I know they are pretty common, but I do not have an inspection port and am a bit nervous to put one on the deck. Is there anyone out there who would advise against adding one there because it would take away strength from the mast step area?
Hey all,
I have a 1977 Laser. When I pour water into the mast step, it will slowly leak into the hull. All the fiberglass is solid and there are no major cracks or anything, so I'm not too worried about the integrity of the mast step, I think I probably just need to seal it up before sailing...
