    Ugly wrinkles are fast (downwind?)

Downwind your sail should be like a gennaker, so everything is just as loose as possible (outhaul, cunningham) There is only some tension on the vang.

    On deck compass?

Oh yes, I do spend a lot of time in the coffeeshop. Though, I would prefer living there, instead of your cave with no one to talk to. I have learned the rules about compasses from guys that have a lot of experience with judging international laser regattas, and therefore they know every rule...

    On deck compass?

I'm sure that the rule has been introduced cause of the magnetic influence from a digital compass to another. Since a few years there are digital compasses in the market with a lot of functions as well.

    On deck compass?

I prefer the Silva 103RE Compass, it has many good features, like different colours and it's easy to use with the numbers. (www.silva.se) It must be mounted on a so called compass spider, a plate around the cleats on your deck. As far as I know, digital compasses are not allowed, because...

Few questions - Gill sailing chronograph

Yea I've been visiting some other good, mostly US, sites, but many watches are not available here in holland, or for sky high prices.. They don't even have the full casio collection here

This is the only thing full rig sails are good for...

i think you can start a new hype with this. For the kids, you can use 4.7 rigs

Media OK - what's this device on mast?

not that cool, I'd rather keep my own sail when it's the most important race...but for equal racing it's a fair idea.

    Headers and Lifts

I believe that headers & lifts in gusts are in the opposite way on the southern half, I mean in australia and areas around there, because "high pressure areas" (dunno if this is the right word for it but i hope you know what i mean) move anti-clockwise.

Few questions - Gill sailing chronograph

I have used a casio watch for 7 years now and i liked it very much, but i had to be repaired quite a lot. I was looking at the local jewelery store for a new casio, but they didn't even have the new collection.... So the search began for a new watch and I find it quite hard to judge the...

    Class Politics coaches going offshore?

slingsby is not doing bad at all in the laser, he has been winning a LOT of cups recently. I Don't think that you can draw your conclusion out of the result of one 4.7 world championship.

How do you rig when it's breezy?

I rig my boat onshore, just make sure you do it 5 minutes before you launch your boat off the slibway, otherwise it'll damage your sail.

    New to the Netherlands

No activity anymore in Muiderzand unfortunately. They will not tolerate any laser sailing activity there anymore, I think :(. There is not a big difference between Utrecht-Muiderzand and Utrecht-Uitdam. The difference is 10 minutes. Utrecht - Uitdam 50 minutes Utrecht- Muiderzand 37 minutes

    New to the Netherlands

Uitdam is 15 km from amsterdam, and there isn't any public transport to it, I think. Or maybe there is, but the connection will not be that good, and since busses don't go to often in the weekends, I wouldn't count on that. We just have been moved from Muiderzand (Flevoland) to Uitdam. So...

    Roll Tacks

On most points, I can agree with everything said. Nevertheless there are two major additions in my opinion. When you have put your weight onto the luffward side and the boom has come over. You go back to the other side quickly. If your timing is not that good it's not a problem to wait a little...
