    Boom stiffner for vang upgrade

    One of the retailers suggests a "boom stiffner" when upgrading older boats with a new vang assembly. My boat was built in 82 and has original spars that seem to be in good shape. Is it nessasarry to add the stiffner?

    Sail numbers on a practice sail?

    Any reason to put sail numbers on a practice sail? I realize the boat needs an ID if your using the practic sail for club events but is a full "class legal" number nessasary?
