Bought this Sunfish at Sears in Syracuse in september 1976 as a graduation present to myself. It was their last one. Got it for 450 dollars, and brought it with me to Stockholm. Itäs been there since. The original sail lasted until 2014, when I bought a new North Sails. The boat has been renovated twice, this year with three inspection ports that give access to the inside.

The thing with this boat is that it didn't qualify for Sunfish races, so it was named Sunfish Windflight. The difference between the classic Sunfish and this 1976 unique edition is in the cockpit - it is big enough to slide down and sit comfortably, thereby getting a very different contact with the water. Your butt is actually below surface level, and you can't really race with it then. When the winds are getting rough, you must sit up and hang on.

I have never lost my love for this dinghy, it's a gem that sails perfectly at low winds and gentle seas. Dry sailing?? I call it tuxedo sailing, as I never get wet.
