For those with experience using the new Zhik powerpads- what is your favorite powerpad/wetsuit bottom combo? So far, I've only tried them with a Gill wetsuit short, which just don't stay up... dad bod problems, I guess. The shorts slide, and the pads go with them....I'm guessing I need...

four more years... I could never just race lasers, the quality of racing is unbeatable but... its actually the only boat I own presently, but I have to get into other classes with more fun on shore and camaraderie on the water.

Well, I think that Jensen is much more fun to hang out at. They don't get the nice big waves to surf, but their sailing center is an awesome place to have a regatta, especially a big one. So I hope more people are going to hang out and have a party or something! See ya'll there!

Well, I thought more people would have chimed in by now, so I'll put in my 2cents. I thoroughly enjoyed the racing at this regatta. I was totally impressed by the RC's ability to manage so many boats, I had to sail in another fleet's traffic maybe three times at most. They were committed...

Personally, I thought the race management was excellant overall. The only time the delays between races bothered me was on Sunday when we waited for an hour in between races. It got so freakin cold and it was painful to sit there flogging my brand new sail! That said, I know they were just...

I've used this system prior to getting the Harken vang. It provides PLENTY of power but must be rigged with a swivel at the mast so that it can be pulled in from a hiking position. The only drawback, IMO, is that (as mentioned previously in this thread) it is much more difficult to release at...

aps (and maybe someone else) sells adhesive-backed teflon strips. You get two, one to go around the mast towards the bottom, and one to go around near the top of the step. As far as I know, they are class legal, improve your rake (not by much) and, most importantly, reduce wear in the mast...

thanks for the link, I've heard this advice many times before. Sailmakers that sell dacron one-design sails for other classes also say that some breaking in is necessary before sails are really 'fast' the main difference between breaking in sails from a loft and breaking in factory-made...
