I am currently showing the wife how to sail, I'd love to come by to see the boats, maybe drop it in the water up your way..We have been sailing milford harbor.

perhaps a forum named sticky's I think something for beginners would attract and hold the new guys better. I feel this way because I am one. I haven's sailed in some time and just purchased a laser.. I am getting most of my 'how to sail and care for a sailboat' info from google searches -...
That sounds like a great way start thank you for the list and the soap trick.. should the silicone around the hardware be removes and replaced even if it is not leaking? is silicone an appropriate sealer for saltwater?

The water is a good idea. only some of the screws for the - i guess they might be called drain covers - are rusted.. most likely off season when i attempt to remove them, my luck with these things dictates that they will need to be drilled out.. is it a simple operation to drill them out and...
I finally found the time to get back on the water, as a kid i ran a sailfish around long island sound. Long story short, I just picked up a 1977 laser - appears to be in good shape. some rusted screws. what looks like a fer bubbles - nickel size - on the deck and a patch under the mast step...
