Ask zeekoevlei yacht club in cape town as it is the major dinghy club or one of the yacht clubs in joburg such as aeolians.
Also try speaking to the Sa laser class association they should be able to help. Central boating sells new lasers as well
Im going to the youth europeans in france later this year and i have had to downsize to a radial as im not old enough to sail in the fullrig class(you have to be older then 17) I was just wondering what a good competive radail weight is? i weigh 76kgs and am trying to get my weight down to...
whats the point of having a purchase? theres only so much you can tighten the traveller before it rips the eyes out the boat and makes it impossible to tack?
i have a pair of zhiks but havent enjoyed them as i made the mistake of buying a size to big so they slip around. has anyone sailed with magic marines and roosters. whats your verdict between these two because im sailing radial europeans in france and need a decent pair of hikers
the problem with feathering(and im not trying to be smart here) is that in a competitive fleet you lose height as you stall out the blades compared to someone whos working the boat and playing the main
its pretty easy to fix new boat had a blade like that. just take a hairdryer and heat the edge of the board up until it gets pliable and remould it with your fingers voila!
I dont think its a problem as majority of the fleet are having the same problem. If you can hike that much longer or call a big shift you can make even bigger gains
