Beta test the new webstore

it's a Laser store, so I figured here was as good a place as any.

definetly not your average forum topic subject though, this is true.

i would add boat specific areas and i would also put order info #'s and stuff like that in a contact section.

I'll be grouping items by category, so dollies will all go in the dolly section, be it for a V-15, Opti or Laser.

Parts will be boat specific though, I just added the V-15 group, and as time goes on, I'll be adding full parts for all those boats.

Just takes time there.

Will work on a more prominent info/contact section as well. Phone numbers are there, but will get their own section.

overall then _______ ?

does the Free Shipping / No Tax stand out enough? it seems not taken from a few responses already.

Any input to make it as easy to use and as friendly as possible would be greatly appreciated.

You should specify the type of boat to go with the "new" items. For instance, the $60.26 mainsheet ratchet (sp!) block appears to be for a V15, not a Laser. On the other hand you state in another message that you are running a Laser store.

all the parts are broken down by boat

can't control what is listed as "new" and I just added V-15 items, so it shows those. Also, haven't load the V-15 pics yet, so it just list the item names, so that might be confusing.

surprised people have found it a little difficult to navigate, but that's why I posted here.

thanks guys, keep the comments coming :)

going to suck up the text at the top too, for clarity and to free up more real estate to show images.

I should hand out some freebies for people spending their time to help me make the site better.

ya'll see the FIRST webstore......it's still posted, now THAT is a helluva piece of work..... ;)

ok, all new photos posted, better organization.

more text editing to go on.

keep those comments coming. how's it lookin?

It looks really good, but maybe you should clarify whether you ship overseas or whether it's just in America. I wasn't clear on that. Otherwise, it seems pretty easy to navigate and looks good.

ok, excellent point that my American centered point of view had me overlook, and I actually feel sort of stupid for not thinking of the global community.

It's a US only program right now, but actually have a couple of AUS customers looking to get sails shipped down, so you never know.

Thanks for your comments everyone. I want this to be a site for YOU, so keep the comments coming.

What else would make it easier for you to buy goodies from me?

Its looking pretty good. Some of the pictures di not come up on the front page at first. Once I went to some other pages and came back they were there. I found it easy to navigate. Probably cause there's not much stuff on it yet so you can breeze through. Prices look in line as well. When do you think the standard laser sail will break the $500.00 mark?

Anyway, if you're considering any discounts or freebies to folks helping with your, uh, "market research" I'm in need of some new booties and that clew strap looks pretty good.

Just a couple of thoughts,
1. It might be good to add a standard parts diagram for each boat for customers that might not know a part name or what they are missing. I know you can find it other places, but it is best to make it convenient.

2. At the top of the parts page you might want draw more attention or highlight that there is a difference section for each boat. It took me a second or two to realize I need to click for the link for laser or v15 parts. It could be as simple as adding a small logo next to each boat type at the top of the page to draw more attention to it.

3. I could not find your address or link to the rest of your website anywhere.

4. I think the review sections are great. It will be useful when checking out upgrades or new parts.

Looks great otherwise!!!

Well hey! Look at all this input.

The text is still being reformatted, there will be a link to the website, and (I think) full contact info.

More logos are up to aid navigation.

Everyones constructive criticism is making the store a lot better than I figured at this point. I'm really pleased and this only sets the bar higher from here on out.

Store should go live Thursday morning. I'll come up with something for those who helped and the first couple of customers who place orders.

ok, most of the front end text is DONE.

links to company website (clicking on the header)

more obvious FREE SHIPPING, etc.
phone number, etc etc.

now I just have to ensure the payment interface is cool and (geez, I sound like an engineer or something) anyway.

THANK YOU to everyone for the help, keep it coming, you constructive criticism has led to a LOT of the changes on the site alread. there will be goodies of some sort.

Canadian shipping. I will be holding off for now (I need to make that more clear on the front of the site)

but I am looking into CAN right now to extend the free shipping. and AUS to extend at least some awesome shipping terms.

more later if I can swing it!
