I am looking at an older sunfish with the serial number aft of the splash rail.

Nice looking serial plate, how is the rest of the boat?

Thank you very much for the information.
The boat looks like it's in decent shape and the daggerboard and rudder were in good shape.
I will want to weigh the boat before I make a decision. There are no additional inspection ports. The owner says it was only used in fresh water although the bow handle is quite pitted although the aluminum around the seam is quite nice.

This Sunfish looks like it was stored indoors and only sailed in distilled water!

From the one pic provided it looks like it’s in nice shape. Some shy away from old style rudder or many choose to ‘upgrade’ but if all the rudder parts are there and properly tuned you should be fine. If you can turn the boat over on a lawn by yourself you’re probably in the right weight range.
What is the seller asking?
