what number are we up to

No, ive seen some sail #'s in 200,000's

I think it's unlikely that they were genuine sail numbers.

The boats provided for the Worlds early this year were all 193,000+.

A quick look at the results for the Europeans just held in July shows a highest number of 193,501, for Paul Goodison who just picked up a new boat before the event

and a similar review of the results of the North Americans just held shows a highest sail number of 194,015.

Also, I think there would be some sort of publicity when number 200,000 is eventually made, and I haven't seen any.

I too believe there will be a bit of fan fare with hull # 200,000. I imagine there may be a raffel for it or something. If I were involved with company PR for the guys building these now I'd make sure to make a HUGE deal out of it and get every ounce of mileage I could.

I saw someone get a brand new boat last fall and put a 220,000 number on it because the vendor didn't know that Vanguard changed the formula for assigning sail numbers a year or two ago and tried to use the old formula for an incompatible hull number.

I suspect the low 200,000 numbers will be reserved for a world championship or other big event with supplied boats.
