what are the things to look for when buying a new laser

Dear Members

I would like to purchase a new laser before the upcoming regattas I want to compete in this year.

What things should I look for in a new laser?

I am aware of some things to look out for but I thought I should just clarify a few things before hand.

-Check the mast rack is correct

-mast is centred and not angled

-Check wait of boat (this bit I'm not so sure on, is there much difference between new lasers?)

Should I go for the lightest one I can find or find one that’s a little on the heavy side or bang on weight?
-stiffness??

-Check foils are centred and in line with each other

-bottom section stiffness? (Not sure on this one as some people I say it can be quite critical)??

Any other things I should check when buying a brand new laser?

I know at the end of the day there probably won't be any difference but I just thought I should ask as a little bit more knowledge can't go a miss.

Thank you for your time in reading my first post

I look forward to everyone’s theories and answers

The way I read the original post, Optimo Primo wants to buy a NEW Laser.

Please clarify and indicate the country where you live. You may not have much choice...
