Vang Pin

Just checking to make sure. But with the new harken 15 to 1 vang, the pin that comes with it is larger than the hole in the mast tang, do I just enlarge the hole?

yeh u do, this vang unit requires you to have a 6mm hole in your vang tang. You may need to drill yours out if you have a very old section. Use a 6mm drill and then take off the burrs with an 8mm afterwards.

Hello Chris,
I am assuming that from your location you've got a Harken vang on a Vanguard boat. The pin size on it is 1/4" use that size bit for your hole make it no larger then you have to. Check the diameter by placing the pin against the back of the bit... Butt to butt, should be identical in size or just a hair larger. The Holt vang has the smaller pin... I'm using a 3/16" pin for it.
