Not gonna answer because I don't think this is very good poll. It really depends upon the person and the situation.
 
The advantages and disadvantages of trailering vs. car-topping have been discussed in many threads. You've manage to find many threads that are ten years old, so I'm sure you are capable of searching for these threads too.
 
I would say that a roof rack is better because it puts stress on the deck, rather than the hull, which is more sensative. Also, when you use a roof rack you don't have the issue of debris from the road flying up and hitting your boat. On the other hand, if your boat is super heavy like mine, we have to get 3 people to load it on the top of our car, so trailering is much easier.
