towing a laser

newbie here. found an older laser retired to a barn near me and thinking of adding it to my toys. the location of said orphan shall remain confidential. that is added for the other bottom feeders out there. ;)

from time to time i would like to tow the bugger with my 53' sailboat. i easily hit 9 kts plus sailing 8 kts power. how well do these things tow? obviously rig out, rudder out, bailer open. d board in or out? any experience towing out there? i know someone has done this. i figure some robust bow fitting would be necessary? more importantly, do they behave?

thanks, cheers.

Stuff the rudder in the dboard slot and leave the bailer open...

i'm assuming that means a smaller d board is better than the full. leads me to think that i'll be making myself a short board (losing rudder would ruin my day) and an alum mast stub with a rubber sleeve plus something on bow to keep tow line low and lined up with bow. i'm a woodbutcher and it would give me something different to do. am i on the right track? thanks for your response.
