Can you tell the age of a sail by looking at it?

I have what apears to be a never used sail, but it seems kind of old, it has green stiching across the pannels, and an older looking Red patch, no button. It even smells old, and feels a little waxy to the touch. Could this sail be competetive? :confused:

It even seems to be made out of an older cloth, compared to my brand new 2006 sail.

Are there different generations of Laser sail cloths?

Yes, old cloth was 3.0oz new cloth is 3.8oz

Green stitching I think was done by Haarstick
