Red and blue telltales

I just received delivery of a new Intensity sail. It came with two blue telltales and two red telltales. Is there some general rule of thumb about placing blue on one side and red on the other? If so, which side gets red and which side gets blue? If not, it there some other reason for different color telltales that I am missing?

It doesn't really matter which side, as long as you put the same color on the same side. The blue is supposed to be easier to see through the sail then the usual green, as there is usually green and red for starboard and port, respectively. The main reason for different colored telltales is so you know which one is on which side, because in some light it is difficult to tell which one you are looking at (leeward or windward). Most people stick with red on port and substitute the blue for green on starboard.

Yeah... What sailorchick said...
I myself use all blue telltales because I can see them through the sail easier. (Especially when it is sunny to windward of the sail!)
