questions about new lasers

ok i am using someone elses laser now for my like fall high school sailing class on minnetonka. well iv been wanting to get one for a bout a year now and found a deal that i dont think i can pass up. at hi tempo they have one of those 2004 lasers that have been used 2 days in the college north americans or something with EVERTHING for $4,000 even. isnt that a much better price than getting a used laser and upgrading it or getting a new one? just wondering what you think i might have to show this to my parents for some convincing!

I think in terms of getting a newish boat this is the best way to go.

I just bought a new laser that was used for a week at the NA's in Santa Cruz, and it cost a few hundred dollars less than boats that were two or three years old.
