Attached are pictures showing the type of floation in my 1990 constructed Capri 14.2. After reading several articles I was curious as to the condition of the foam floatation some people have mentioned. To my surprise, my boat did not have foam, but plastic floats. The overall construction looks very solid and the inspection did give me an appreciation for using a good marine sealant as I reassemble all the rigging.
The pictures should appear as follows: 1) bow, 2) mast support, 3) Starboard bulkhead, 4) Cuddy bulkhead, 5) Port bulkhead, 6) floatation (picture taken through the round port holes in the bulkhead - there are several floats on each side 7) center hull support. I am considering adding a few more floats in the foward section ... minimum added weight and and extra margin of safety for floatation
