Olym Trials any dates?

Does anyone know if they have picked the dates or location of the Olympic trials yet? Not that Im gonna give it a go, just wondering.

The pre-trials will be next month and you can get all the info from the US Sailing website, their Olympic Sailing section.
If you are nearby you should consider sailing! The Pre-trials are open and its a great experience to race against the Olympic hopefuls!

If the answer to this is in fact NO...then what purpose are the pre-trials meant to serve?

Two purposes.

1. It is the first of three events to determine the five members of the 2007 US Sailing Team for Lasers. The other two events are Miami OCR and Midwinters East.

2. It gives the Olympic Trial organizers a chance to work out all the kinks before the real olympic trials event.
