New owner needs help

I just purchased a 1977 Omega 14. I took it out once with no wind to swirling wind to steady wind. It had no cleat for the main. I purchased a main cleat, Barney post and boom vang but need help with installation. Also, any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. Does this boat like to be sailed aggressively or does it sail best with Auntie May along for a Sunday afternoon trip? thanks
