I am not sure if I am understanding this properly. you can buy a rig to your weight or ability - laser -laser 4.7 so on . I thought I saw somewhere where you can interchange as a package , I plan to by a boat for myself and my kids who are 30lbs lighter could you turn me in the right direction.I hope this is not to dumb of a ?

The radial uses same hull, blades, etc, as a standard; but a smaller (and bent) lower mast section and sail. A 4.7 uses the same mast as a radial, but a smaller sail.

yeah, 4.7's are geared more towards kids and smaller sailors
radial is geared more towards women, teenagers, and smaller sailors
and full rig, is full rig
id say the ideal weight for full rig is abour 165-185, for radial is like 130 ish, and im not so sure about 4.7.
but yeah, its very easy to change rigs for different people, all your changing is a peice of the mast and the sail

4.7's, radials, and full rigs all have different bottom sections and sails but everything else is the same . the ideal competative weight according to paige railey is 155, the ideal full rig weight is 175 i think and the ideal 4.7 weight is 135
