When are you going? There is a great masters event this weekend in Oriental which is about 30-45 minutes North of Morehead City. If you're old enough you'll love it.

Last year I was in Beaufort, NC (pronounced bo-furt, not to be confused with byew-furt in SC), which is near Moorehead City. They have a small waterfront district with a few boat docks. I saw a couple of Lasers stored on dollies there. I'm not sure where they launched or if they were part of a club.

Torrid I know all about the Bo fort almost got shot for saying the
Beaufort word there several years ago. I have been to sc beaufort
many times.

Check the recent D11 news post. They have the NOR and details there for Oriental this weekend.
As for Bo Fort it's an awesome place. The best way to spend time there IMHO is to sit at the water side bar and watch the traffic go by, (Marine and other) and see if you can catch a glance of a wilde horse on the island across the ICW.
