minor gelcoat repairs

I've read posts about doing a full-day, complete hull restoration, but I haven't seen much about filling a few scratches. I've got a 2006 hull with a few minor scratches but I want to get it back to like-new condition, so I picked up the Grey and the Yellow gelcoat along with sandpaper up to 1500 grit. Whats the best method for fixing a few long (12-24") but shallow (maybe 1/16" deep) scratches? I also intend to fix a small gouge on the tip of the bow that won't affect performance but just looks ugly.

Thanks for any advice!
