Mast Step leak

I just bought a new 98 laser that is in exelent condition. The only problem is that there is a leak in the mast step. I'm wondering if you have to cut an inspection port to fix it or if there are other methods.

You should read the stepmast /inspection port thread. If the tube is clean inside you may be able to see where it is leaking without an inspection port. You can also measure the inside of the tube which should be about 14 inches if more than the bottom of the tube should be checked as best you can. If you see a leak you may want to try pouring alittle resin in and see if it still leaks. But like I said read the thread there is alot of good info.
