Mainsheet selection.

Hey all.

I need to replace a mainsheet in one of our Lasers at my college. They are not used for racing, but we take care of them fairly well. Any recommendations for what type of mainsheet to use? I did a quick search and couldn't find anything. I know Rooster makes nice line, but for something that's not gonna be raced and is better put as just a club boat, what would be a cost effective line I could use? Thanks!

Try New England Ropes Bzzz line, 7mm. Costs less than Rooster Polilite and is easier on the hands.

Go with 8mm (5/16") for recreational and club racing, much easier on the hands. Marlow Marstrom is the old standby that was used for years (Bzz is similar). The hardcore racers use 6-7mm stuff which is basiclly 1/4".

I'll look at the prices of those. Marlow's a larger braid right?

I really like the idea of the New England Buzz line. Seems like a good medium between the two.

All my club does is go to West Marine and get their 1/4 basic line and it does great!
