Lines for Gust Jens

I am rigging for a Gust Jens and my present halyard seems like it will be too thick if I want to cleat off both to the mast.

1. Do you usethe same type line for Gust Jens/Main Halyard?

2. What is the appropriate length for each?

3. What line type and where to buy.

Both halyards Shaun Hoffmann uses are 30' Amsteel 3/16"

I found that 3/16" was to fat for both lines to fit through the end cap..so I used a smaller line for the Gust Adjust line.
