Jib Furling Systems - an enquiry

Hi Everyone, new to this forum so my first question is.

Has anyone else tried this Areo luffspar? I was reading about it on the Wayfarer forums and was wondering what the general consensus was on furling your jib.
I had a couple of near misses with other boats on the start line last week, these could have been costly as we were hit by some strong gusts of wind. I'm sure I could have avoided the other boats with clearer visibility. Does anyone else furl their genoa on the start line?

It seems to me that not having the jib up when the gun goes off will relegate you to the back of the fleet really fast.

At the gun you want to have full speed on the line. So you would want your jib/genoa up and trimmed. One of your crew usually the bow man will be looking around and telling you about your surroundings, so you should know where all the boats around you are, even if you cant see them.
