I used the search function and didn't get anything, could be me. Would anyone please enlighten me about the use of Japanese glide tape on a Sunfish? Thanks, cheers, Winever.
Save your money; there's no need for this tape on a Sunfish. It's used by some Laser sailors to protect the mast tube from wear by the rotating mast. A flexible file cover works just as well on a Sunfish, if not better.
See Wayne's post in the following thread: http://www.sunfishforum.com/showthread.php?t=33240
Wave Dancer, thanks for the info and the link. That's what I was hoping to find. From the looks of the mast pix, I may need to replace the bottom cap on the mast, mine is worn. And I did have a leak at the bottom front edge of the well. Fixed that...I think. SO since I have the glide tape think I'll wrap it top and bottom of the mast section fitting into the well. Maybe some on the bottom of the well too?
Anybody else with experience please feel free to share info. Thanks, cheers, Winever.
