Intensity Practice sail won't slide into the mast

We just received our new Intensity Practice sail. We are having trouble getting the sail to slide into the groove of the mast of our Laser 2. Any suggestions? We are newbys (which was probably already obvious!) The original sail slid in with no effort. So far we have tried to compress the edge to get it to fit, but still haven't had any luck. Our boat is a 1983.

Sounds like the bolt rope is too wide/thick. The Intensity guys seem to be responsive. Ask them about it.
 
Thanks. We will ask them tomorrow. In the meantime, my husband did a little work with the dremel on the mast and managed to get it to work. But, there may be an easier way!
