inspection port placement?

does anyone have any ideas on the best place to install an inspection port on a minifish? I recently put one in a sunfish, centered between the splash rail and the dagger board slot...obviously that will not work on the minifish, however I don't want to put it somewhere where I will cause some sort of structural damage to the little guy, I'm gonna feel bad enough when I cut into him, and it would be terrible if I hit a foam block, or any other of his vital organs.~jackson

oh yeah....it also has a little brass hook in the front of the cockpit facing down...what the heck is that thing for...surely it is not a substitute for a block?

Yup it is. The Sunfish came with a potmetal hook on the front cockpit lip that took out many a knee before folks got smart and replaced it with a block on the deck.

thanks mike, I just ordered a ratchet block. my knees are to old to have such a safety risk in the cockpit with me. the 11 year old provides more than enough excitement.`jackson
