Inspection Port Help?

I suspect one of the second hand Lasers I recently bought will need some mast step repairs and am wondering if it would be advised to put in an inspection port. If so where is the best place to purchase them (I live in Canada so shipping is sometimes an issue)and where would you suggest placing the port?

Hi Shaelyn,

The photo on the following post shows the approximate location of the hole I cut out in my deck in order to do my mast step reinforcement project.

The hole I cut was 5.5 inches in diameter. If I was to do it over again, I'd cut a bigger hole. The most difficult part of the project was the restricted access to the area that you want to work on as a result of having to work through a small hole in the deck.
